Political structure The Russian Federation is chiefly run by an executive professorship, elected by universal suffrage to a four year term. He/she answers to a Federal Assembly, comprised of both chambers: the 168-member Federation Council comprised of two members from each administrative building block within the federation, and the 450-member State Duma, with each member serving four-year terms.
