My own ethical value system is based on many contradictions. A one point I may trust in the demolition sentence and then I will change my mind and object in the death sentence. I may believe in using perception everywhere reason and then another time I may believe in just using emotion to make my decisions. The ethical theories that I am going to give tongue to about in the fiting paper is reason vs. emotions, cultural relativism, usefulism, good realism, free will, and freedom and moral responsibility.
The ethical surmise that I am going to talk about first-class honours degree is reason vs. emotion. Reason vs. Emotion is about using reason to make ethical judgments. I believe that reason should be used to make ethical judgments. There are deuce key elements in Kants ethical system. First morals is based on pure reason: neither our feelings nor our verifiable observation of the world play any part in moral philosophy. Second, the capacity to follow the purely rational dictates of the rational moral law must come from the special capacity of the adult male will (and not from emotions or inclinations) (Waller 2008 pg 24). I think that the great power to follow rules and laws comes from our ability to reason and the ability to weigh the advantages and disadvantages to follow them, not from our emotions.




The next ethical theory I am going to talk about is utilitarianism Ethics. Utilitarianism Ethics is The ethical theory that judges the rightness or wrongness of an act in terms of its consequences- in particular, whether it produces the greatest balance of pleasure over suffering for everyone involved (Waller 2008 pg332) or based on quest the most satisfying outcome to ethical dilemmas. I believe that having a life based only on pleasurable develops are not desirable because if you do not experience pain how would you know what pleasure is.
