There was also a verse in where he stated that the tree looks up to God and lifts up her leafy arms to pray. Kilmers poem is made up of twelve verses and has the last words rhyme in each verse. For example, the first verse in the first stanza ends with see and the second verse ends with tree. This pattern continues on throughout the poem. In his second verse of the first poem says, A poem lovely as a tree and closes the poem with, But only God can make a tree.
